The Good Wolf and The Bad Wolf

Once, a young boy from the Cherokee tribe felt he had been treated unfairly. After that day, he began to act out in anger. His grandfather grew concerned about his behavior and called him for a conversation:

“I understand your anger about everything that happened. I understand your feelings. But every day, inside each one of us, a terrible battle takes place between two wolves.

One wolf is bad—he feels anger, envy, sadness, jealousy, arrogance, guilt, resentment, inferiority, and pride.

The other wolf is good—he feels hope, peace, humility, kindness, generosity, forgiveness, compassion, faith, and joy.”

The grandson then asked his grandfather:

“In this battle, which one wins?”

“It’s the one you feed! Choose your thoughts wisely, for they are what feed the wolves inside you.”
